“Reiki” is a Japanese word that refers to energy, vitality and the life force. It is an alternative form of medicine that harnesses the energy that each and every one of us possess to relax, revitalise and heal ourselves.
The Benefits of Reiki
Reiki therapy relies on the area known as “Universal intelligence” which is comprised of the four states: Spiritual, Emotional, Mental and Physical. These intertwine to direct the energy to the part(s) of the body that need it most.
More traditional forms of medicine identify ills and treat the symptoms. Reiki identifies ills but treats the causes. Psychological problems and disorders such as stress and anxiety can manifest themselves physically through headaches, stomach-aches, a lowered immune system and general digestive problems. These are caused by an imbalance of energy travelling through the body and in order to alleviate the symptoms we must free up the necessary channels so that the energy can flow through us as it is supposed to.
